Ladies of the Valley at Venables Thea...Description
Join us for a wonderful evening of live music featuring Wilder Than Her, Carol Sheridan, Aimee Grice and Kansas-Lee.
Maureen (Wilder Than Her) is an Oliver area resident of over 25 years. Being community minded, she plays her 6 string acoustic guitar and sings at several open mics and other public venues including various assisted living and extended care facilities in the South Okanagan. Her repertoire is vast and diverse, with high energy and finesse coming together as one. She is inspired by many Canadian artists and their music. Maureen appreciates what music can bring to people and understands its power to inspire, reflect and calm from within. The imprint of “song” on an individual can be everlasting. She loves what she does, and desire to share this love of music is her greatest gift.
Carol Sheridan is a singer/songwriter living in Oliver with her husband Steve and two daughters. A self-taught musician, Carol has always enjoyed sharing her love for folk, classic and contemporary songs with friends and family and has performed for several small audiences over the years at local events and establishments. Her goal is to bring people together for a shared experience and feeling of community through music.
Aimee Grice is no stranger to the stage and has been singing for as long as she can remember. Aimee blends the essence of folk, blues, and rock into a sound uniquely her own, with vocals ranging from soft and sultry, to raw and powerful. Expect a mix of honest originals and crowd-pleasing covers... and she'll probably have you singing along!
Kansas-lee is an honest alt-folk artist with a powerfully dynamic voice and presence. Her songwriting identifies with no genre in particular, but carries a theme of raw authenticity summoned from living a life of total creativity. She has released three self-produced albums, has toured throughout BC, California, England, and Lanzarote, always delivering an intimate experience of human expression through guitar, piano and voice.
